Sources indicate that the Greens will today announce their candidate for the State seat of Marrickville. There will be updates, of course, as they come to hand.

UPDATE: Amanda reports that it's going to be Sam Byrne.
UPDATE II: On the ABC:

Mr Byrne says he is confident he can capitalise on a groundswell of support for the Greens.
"On the council there's more Greens than any other grouping on the council," he said.
"We had a very strong result in the last state and federal election and things are building. We've got our positive message out there and people are listening."
