Leave Sydney?? As if!

Reserve Bank of Australia governor IAN MACFARLANE says young Sydney residents should think about moving elsewhere because the cost of living in Australia's biggest city is so high.

Tell him he's dreaming!
Mr MCFARLANE told a House Of Representatives Committee yesterday that house prices in Sydney are 50 to 60 per cent more expensive than in Melbourne.
He says it's in the interests of young people to go elsewhere where the lifestyle is more affordable.

Yeah, but who wants to live anywhere else? It is more expensive but it is here godammit!
New South Wales Opposition Leader JOHN BROGDEN says the state government's failure to release enough land for new housing is making it too expensive for young people in Sydney to buy their own homes.

Whinger.

Ever thought about the cost of providing real infrastructure?

Of course not - let's just put more people on the roads to the suburbs, let's pretend more trains exist, let's imagine that they will not want to work in the CBD...
But a spokesman for Premier MORRIS IEMMA says young people will continue to flock to Sydney because it's the engine room of the Australian economy, and because of the lifestyle it offers.

Word!
