Sometimes the ALP just shits me!

And now is one of those times.

I usually read my daily dose of news corp trash each morning with a coffee from Bond Cafe (Pitt St, Sydney) and sometimes a muffin.

Today I nearly choked on the muffin (banana flavoured if you are interested).

In an article in the Australian I got to read how ultra-Left union Secretary of the Victorian Electrical Trades Union, Dean Mighell, is going to exercise his Union's votes for the Right in several key preselections. Among those to go would be Maria Vamvakinou, the very capable member for Calwell.

How does Dean Mighell justify this decision based upon his earlier tantrums at the conservative nature of the ALP? This is a man who joined the Greens in protest (even though stated Green Party policy at the time would have seen 10,000 workers in his industry lose their jobs).

Then again Dean Mighell is also a man who wanted to set up a factory to make union apparel - in China with non-union labour! This is also a man who supports Craig Johnston, a cheap thug in a union shirt.

Already in a fragile state of mind as I pictured the Federal Left Parliamentary caucus being further diminished I came across comments on AAP about the Marrickville by-election.
New South Wales Education Minister CARMEL TEBBUTT finds out today whether a rogue Labor Party candidate will cause a bump in her passage to the state parliament's lower house.
There are no rogue members. Nominating is a right and this should not be questioned. I can only assume that the line was inserted by the journo as it thankfully does not give a supporting quote from any Labor Left figures. If we are to maintain any credibility as a faction we should ensure that supporting the will of the rank and file remains a fundamental plank.
